Cotton Candy Man as sung by Sandy Crawley
(Hawkins)
It’s sad when all you get is nothing.
There’s nobody to hold.
And you’re afraid you’re getting old,
And you seem to be losing all the time.
A cotton candy man,
Making all the sweets he can,
But the circus never comes his way.
It’s true; all the ladies have their sweet things.
They’re living in a candy land,
And eating on a five year plan,
O their sweets must have constant availability.
They don’t want a candy man
Who isn’t their ideal old man,
A personable also ran.
Nothing, that’s all you get is nothing.
And you’re about to lose your mind.
And everybody says: that’s fine.
And comments on your becoming immobility.
And you lift your head to shout
This isn’t what life’s all about.
This isn’t what life is all about.
All about. It’s sad. It’s sad.
